How zeolite helps improve water quality

One of the most valuable natural products, with numerous beneficial properties for both humans and the environment, is the mineral zeolite. The crystalline structure of natural zeolite gives it unique beneficial properties relating to its use in purifying drinking water. Natural zeolite absorbs chlorides, iron and manganese, as well as heavy and toxic metals such as silver, mercury, nickel, chromium, cobalt, antimony, arsenic and cadmium. The ion-exchange properties of zeolite help to remove salts from water, resulting in water softening and the adjustment of its pH towards neutral. Zeolite is a 100% natural, insoluble, durable product with antibacterial properties

What is activated carbon?

The activated carbon contained in Aquametix® is a completely natural product that visually resembles a fine, odourless, tasteless and non-toxic black powder. It can be produced from peat, bamboo, charcoal, wood, sawdust, coconut husks, olive pits and other sources. It is heated in a controlled environment under vacuum to acquire its characteristic porous surface. These microscopic holes, or pores, can increase the surface area of the carbon from 500 to 1,500 m²/g. As a result of this treatment, it is able to adsorb various substances that come into contact with it, whether in liquid or gaseous form, in quantities many times its own weight. One cubic centimetre of activated carbon has the same surface area as 50,000 square metres. Naturally, activated carbon produced from coconut shell is the most eco-friendly and environmentally friendly option! Aquametix® combines two types of activated carbon with zeolite.

 What is the Biomaster®

During the production of the plastic filter housing at our factory in Sindos, Thessaloniki, we add the special Biomaster® biocide to the plastic. The inorganic nature, small particle size and high temperature tolerance of this antimicrobial additive make it ideal for use in a wide range of applications.
Biomaster® utilises nanosilver technology (silver ions). The silver ions safely inhibit the growth of bacteria and microbes. The Biomaster® antimicrobial additive can be heated to temperatures of up to 600 degrees Celsius without losing its antimicrobial properties.
Biomaster® complies with the ISO 22196:2011 standard against common organisms such as Campylobacter, E. coli, Listeria, MRSA, Pseudomonas and Salmonella. It has been proven to reduce the growth of these bacteria by up to 99.99 per cent.
Biomaster is easily added to the product during manufacture. The active ingredient in Biomaster® cannot be washed off or leached out and is designed to last for the entire lifetime of the product.
It begins to work as soon as bacteria start to multiply. It reduces bacteria by 80 per cent after 15 minutes and by 99.99 per cent after 2 hours.
Biomaster® is approved under the Biocidal Products Regulation No. 528/2012, by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA). It is also approved throughout the European Union and holds the necessary Certificates of Conformity.
It is used worldwide, primarily in medical devices, toys, food packaging and drinking water applications.
